Making your own laundry soap liquid (Can be used with he washers as well)

Ingredients and tools list

1.) One bar of ivory soap (almost any brand should do)
2.) Half cup Borax (20 mule team is most common)
3.) One cup of Washing soda {Sodium Carbonate} (this is not the same thing as baking soda )
Note: Baking soda is Sodium Bicarbonate (not nearly as effective)
4.) One large 5 gallon bucket
5.) Large Mixing spoon

Step 1 Take the Bar of ivory soap and grate it using a cheese grater as fine as you can get it.
Step 2 In a sauce pan add 4 cups of water and bring to a boil
Step 3 Add the grated soap slowly to the sauce pan until you have what looks like nothing more than soapy water.

Step 4  Take the five gallon bucket and fill with 3 gallons of hot water
Step 5 Combine the soap mixture from the stove with the water in the 5 gallong bucket (mix thoroughly)
Step 6 add 1/2 cup of Borax (mix 1-2 minutes)
Step 7 add 1 cup of washing soda  continuing to mix thoroughly

Use: 1 cup per laundry load 4oz for small loads if desired

Let the ingredients sit over night the end result is a slimy type mixture that unfortunately needs to be shaken or stirred before each use.   This mixture is more cost effective and I have found cleans your close just as good if not better than leading store brands.

SHOOTING THE MOON

I was out late one night shooting the moon as there are no subjects to shoot at 3:00am the following pictures are the results:

PHOTOGRAPHY

I have been interested in photography since I was about 7 shooting with a 110 camera.   (you know the skinny cameras with the small film rolls).  I upgraded to an old 35mm and tinkered with shooting up until my son was born.  I was taking pictures of him and tons I might add I had about 20 rolls of film.  I went to develop them and to find out my camera malfunctioned and all the pictures were either blurry or useless.  (MAD AS HELL) I then put of photography for a while and decided around 2006 I should get back into it.  I purchased the camera I still shoot with today.  A canon DSLR Rebel XTI very moderately priced DSLR.  This blog is basically a personal record of what I have been shooting with the camera.  My first picture entry will be of the MOON. I know who doesn't shoot the moon.
